Mobile Performance

The performance results from MobileMark 2002 show a hearty 28% lead over lower rated Pentium-M processors.

Since it uses the Pentium-M at 1.7GHz and a moderately sized battery, we expected the Dell Inspiron 8600 to fall down the chart a bit. The scores we got are very satisfactory, as the 8600 lasted 4 hours. This isn't small peas for a performance notebook. We were expecting battery life scores close to the D800, since both systems are based on the same basic platform. Our benchmark results just reconfirm this.
