Any idea what video card Anand is using to drive the 30" display? Lots of controversy over what cards can and cannot drive the 2560x1600 optimal resolution.
interesting... Apple claims a 16ms response time for all their LCDs... I am dying for a review of these puppies... and why not throw the 2005 in there as well ;-)
When can we see a review of the overclocking capability of the entire range of shipping Dothan processors? This Dothan is the reincarnated Celeron 300A when combined with the DFI motherboard. The high price of the motherboard is mitigated by the OC potential of the lower end Dothans. Please give us the data.
Just today, Jan 4, Apple reduced prices across the board on its LCD displays... The 20-in display now costs $990; the 23-inch LCD is $1799; and the jumbo-tron 30 incher now goes for $2999.
as mentioned, these diplays go both ways. So PC lovers in the market for a new display should do themselves a favor by stopping by an Apple store for a test drive.
Bluh, hey did anyone watch leno w/ tom green and al sharpton funny stuff, also 30" disply holy jesus that is wo nice i am using a 17" lcd so sad so sad...
BTW, have any of you actually seen Apple's 30" Cinema Display with your own eyes? It is truly a thing of beauty. I can't remember the last time a had such admitted techno-lust. ;-)
#18: Having more knowledge is sort of redundant in 6600 vs. 6600 GT comparison. The architecture is the same, expect for lower clock speeds, which will cause performance hits.
Acquiring knowledge does not mean that you run tests on every single computer component just to know its performance. If you are following up with 6800 and 6600 architecture, you should know what to expect from the plain 6600.
Let me give you one advise, never be a lawyer. You will lose horrendously.
#13: Yes, there are certain things that Windows can do better than Macs and there are certain things that Macs can do better.
Besides, even if there is no difference between the two platforms, according to you, we still want to learn more about other platforms.
There's nothing wrong with having more knowledge, so at least you can comment appropriately and knowlingly when talking about platforms other than Windows.
We don't want to be ignorant like you and say, "why is everyone looking forward to a Mac article it's not like they can do much more then a PC can."
Please stop with your ignorant comments. Just take a look at 6600GT benchmarks and you can easily guess the performance of the 6600 non-GT.
the question is, is there a video card in the world that can drive that display, AND ply the latest ames at it's native resolution?? looks like anand is gonna be seting up his own personal 6800 Ultra SLI setup pretty soon... ;-)
Now here's a question: Anand hasn't mentioned in the past getting a video card that can drive the 30" display. So either Vinney bought him a 6800 GT/Ultra at the same time (and yes, crtfanboy, the Mac versions of those cards drive that display), or he has some review card that can handle it. ;)
Merry Christmas all.
Especially you, you lucky bastard.
I guess LCDs are the thing this holiday, my wife just got me the 2005FPW.
Looking forward to that Mac article in Jan.
dang im jealous.... I did get a new LCD monitor though... but its only the Samsung 715N, so nothing quite as cool as your present, but a significant improvement from my craptacular 17" CRT :-)

now I just need to find a CRT with a higher resolution... I can only go on about color depth and accuracy for so long
