This thing was beaten with an ugly stick from the future.

I'm not against angular and showy designs existing even if they aren't for me, but this one is just too inconsistent as if the design team was actually four different teams, each assigned to one section, whose designs were then mashed together.

Awesome case, this is the one to buy.
All the stupid little complaints are just that, stupid and little.
If it wasn't all black I'd buy two.
The unnotched spot in the drive bay is for any custom install one needs- perfect.
One usb3 up front is fine, there's 2 usb2 and that's what most people have a ton of, depite the elite smarm face the techies here get when they cry and whine about every dollar, indicating usb3 items are something they have NOT AT ALL.
Great case, great price, I really love the whining about it, it's just such excellent entertainment.
I'd wager 90% of the people here see much uglier when they look in the mirror, compared to looking at the case, and yes that does say something about them, lol
    Hypocrite, self flagellating.
AWESOME case - if you need more than 6 internal drive bays, you're a stupid freak.

Oh goody, it comes in storm trooper white...

Major advantages over the crappy antex gx700:
    1. Good metal, sturdy
    2. Hot swap sata bay on top
    3. On off on top not middle
    4. Top 5.25 accessible not filled with wiring
    5. Good 3.5 drive trays just the right flexibility
    6. Clear side window ( for all the crybabies about how a motherboard or video card looks, this HAS to be a 300%+ WIN. (of course whiners are not consistent and are so braindead, they usually don't notice how they completely contradict themselves all the time)
    7. Removable mid internal tray for long video cards.
    8. wins stock cpu temps
    9. better on drive temps

Yes, I don't see really what the problem is other than the lemmings who go along with the reviewer like blind rats.

If any complaint is valid, it's the lack of lots of space for cable hiding - that's it.
This case stomps the stupid gx700 into the ground.
  • hbycr1 - Saturday, April 11, 2015 - link

i bought this case and there's nothing wrong with it.. Everything fits properly if you buy compatible parts.. I think you're just looking for something to complain about.
  • lwatcdr - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

Lets face it drives are huge today. Unless your building a NAS you do not need 7 drive bays, Frankly you do not need 6 3.5 drive bays.
If you someone was going to build a really hot machine today they would probably go with two SSDs in RAID0 for the System drive and maybe two 4Gb HDDs in RAID 1 for data.
I agree about only one USB 3 is a deal breaker.
If I was going to make a version 2 of this case I would
Drop the hot dock on top.
    2 USB3 ports
Room in the top for an H110
    140mm exhaust fan
  • shaolin95 - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

You dont need 7 drive bays, really? So because YOU dont need it the rest of the world is the same right?
  • Skidmarks - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

This case is targeted at gamers. Do you know any gamers that need 7 drives?
  • CeriseCogburn - Tuesday, March 12, 2013 - link

I have some nutball stupid friends that drool because they have harddrives - and always have to show how they add them over their home lan, it's like a retarded addiction.
One example, like 5.6 terabytes of HD space, with 4.2 terabytes free, and the doof wants more harddrives - people have an insane sort of addiction there - a lot of them do - and the older wackadoos think cookies and internet surfing takes up all their memory (that's harddrive space to them, memory - since it "remembers" stuff when the computer is turned off.
I agree though, whining about 6 internal bays is rather crazy.
  • Omega215D - Tuesday, March 12, 2013 - link

For gaming in a sub $100 case? Yep it does not need 7 3.5" drive bays. Six is good enough for most people and not enough to ding the case over.
  • DanNeely - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

I think it was being dinged because it appears to have 7 places to put a 3.5" drive, but only includes 6 sleds because one in the middle of the stack was dedicated as a 2.5" install location.
  • Omega215D - Tuesday, March 12, 2013 - link

It makes sense though as SSDs are becoming more mainstream.
  • piroroadkill - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

My system has 9 drives in it, in a Fractal Design Define R3:
    1x Intel 320 120GB
    1x Samsung 830 256GB
    1x Seagate Momentus XT 750GB
    2x Seagate Barracuda 3TB
    3x Western Digital Green 2TB
1x Seagate Barracuda 500GB (to be replaced with an RMA'd 2TB WD Green)

Still had space for an LG Blu-ray/HD DVD drive left in the top bay!
  • piroroadkill - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

Disregarding this comment of mine, good work on changing an ATX board and testing SLI.

Some just aren't up on the idea of having a High def movie catalog of 500-600 movies with high bitrate DTS sound along with a couple hundred music CDs in FLAK streaming to your media PC or media player and your homes flat panels and surround sound systems. Let them play with their netbooks and NZXT Phantom Star Wars Storm Trooper cases. Eventually they all grow up.

  • lwatcdr - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

You really should build a NAS.
  • DanNeely - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

Filling every other bay improves airflow around the drives and keeps them cooler than putting them in adjacent bays. It's also a very cheap feature checklist item.
  • lwatcdr - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

So you can only use three 3.5 drives instead of four in a sub $100 case? Still not worth a ding.
Now only one USB 3 port is a fail.
  • ggathagan - Saturday, March 9, 2013 - link

So what would you fill that space with?
  • Grok42 - Sunday, March 10, 2013 - link

I couldn't agree more. I've done some research for a future article I'm writing and it's shocking how little diversity and experimentation is going on in the computer case industry. 95% of the cases on the market are just like this an ATX case trying to be everything to everyone and then dumping LED lighting on top of that. It's obvious no one with any sense would buy this case for anything but a gaming rig but they don't even optimize for that. Will some want to have a combined NAS and gaming rig? Sure, but it isn't 95% of the market. Give us choice.

BTW, the worst offense this case makes is including 3x 5.25" external bays. Most builds don't include legacy optical disks anymore but even those that do have no use for 3 of them. Outside the extremely niche use of hot swap bay inserts the is absolutely no use. Some might say bay coolers but they are just admitting they bought a case with bad cooling.
  • Director12 - Monday, March 11, 2013 - link

"..and maybe two 4Gb HDDs in RAID 1 for data."

Wow, that would give you, like, a whole 8gb of storage! That's just crazy, NO ONE would ever need that much storage.
  • DanNeely - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

I have to wonder if In-Win managed to get its hands on a bunch of IO panels left over from the earlier, run a cable out and plug into the back, generation of cases really cheap. Someone trying to dump its inventory of junk before it becomes completely obsolete might be willing to offer more than just 1 or 2 dollars to get rid of it.
  • BrokenCrayons - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

I have to admit the letters I and U on the front of the case are the most disturbing parts of the design's style. I can understand that In-Win wanted to include an I but where on Earth did they come up with the U? It's like they wanted to place a W there but didn't managed to quite fit it in place. It just comes off as odd looking and rather out of place.

Aside from that...curse you Dustin for bemoaning the notched side panels! :) Okay, I do understand that pulling machines apart is made a little easier with a hinged latch. The Dell Optiplex and Precision workstations I have on the office enterprise network make access a simple matter. However, sales of individual cases are typically to builders who either make computers for home users or who are the end home users themselves. System surgery isn't frequent for any single desktop in a home and the few moments spent pulling the side of a case off or putting it back on isn't a big deal unless the panel doesn't fit properly. Even then, what's a couple of seconds of time in even a once a month teardown to clean out dust bunnies amount to over the life of any given enclosure? I just don't see it as something that should draw any ire and after a certain price point is reached, is hardly worth more than a mention.

  • CeriseCogburn - Tuesday, March 12, 2013 - link

How did you decide "they" look bad ? Or did you ?
  • Flunk - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

Last time I put together a computer I bought a Lian-Li PC9-F for $89. That case looks great (to me) and is light, well built and well designed. Considering that you can now get a case that is roughly as good as a premium $300 case from 10 or so years ago for a fraction of the price really drives down the prices on lower end cases.

A case like this looks positively overpriced by comparison. This thing shouts out "cheap" from the rooftops and it's $69. Maybe in 2002 that would have been a good deal, but not today.

There are a lot of better cases out there in the same price bracket.
  • CeriseCogburn - Tuesday, March 12, 2013 - link

Please point a few out, thanks.
  • sulu1977 - Friday, March 8, 2013 - link

Why is USB 3.0 connectivity even an issue for a case? It's just a blank, empty case for heaven's sake. A USB port could be USB 1, 2 or 3 depending what wires you connect to it from the motherboard. So of you attach cables from USB 3 headers to all the ports then all the ports should be USB 3. Or am I missing something?
  • smitty123 - Saturday, March 9, 2013 - link

"So of you attach cables from USB 3 headers to all the ports then all the ports should be USB 3. Or am I missing something?"
    obviously you are missing something,

you need the latest ports so they'll have the necessary metal connections. USB 3.0 has more connectors in it to transfer faster.

They are backwards compatible because it was designed that way, but not forward compatible, unless you can see in the future? heck the weather guy can hardly tell what's gonna look like tomorrow lol

So no, you can't have just usb 1 or 2 ports anymore and make them usb 3, they just don't have the connections.

i'd go with 4 USB3.0 ports at the front. you can't have just 2 ports side by side, the Gen 3 keys are too wide.
  • Dustin Sklavos - Saturday, March 9, 2013 - link

Also, each motherboard header is for a pair of ports. So when the case only has one port attached to a line, but uses one of the motherboard headers, you've basically given up a port because the case designer was a cheapskate.
  • lwatcdr - Saturday, March 9, 2013 - link

I was going to say that they should got 2 3.0 and 2 2.0 USB ports because we all know that there will be some motherboard that will not wake from sleep when you wiggle a mouse or hit a key on a 3.0 port. Except that why would you plug your mouse or keyboard into the front ports. Yea your right 4 3.0 ports is the way to go.
I just do not get the one 3.0 port, it seems like the worst solution. If there where none then you could just get a 3.0 card reader/ 3.0 ports that fit into a drive bay. With one 3.0 port you give up one of the 3.0 ports on the header.
  • CeriseCogburn - Tuesday, March 12, 2013 - link

Because the eggheads pretend they have multiple usb3 devices they need to connect al at once - it brags proud monied mega geek to whine about it.
Plus, once the ponce reviewer spews his crap, the lemmings repeat like parrots - you know how when you teach something to mthe rubes about you, several week sor monts later they repeat it to you excitedly as if they just thought it up...
At least the parrots read that part, and squealed out the agreeing whine.
  • Sleepingforest - Wednesday, March 13, 2013 - link

So, you're saying that there's no way I'd want to, say, back up my computer to a USB 3.0 external hard drive, use USB 3.0's higher voltage to charger my phone, and upload my camera's contents at the same time? Because those are all concievably concurrent needs.

In fact, I could say you are elitist for thinking we need any front panel USB at all--a single back panel USB 1.0 was enough fifteen years ago. Why not today?
  • CeriseCogburn - Thursday, March 14, 2013 - link

You're backup should be plugged into the back, readily available, so you aren't moving it and destroying it.
Your cellphone has a charger, and it's slow off a computer, and you have no outlet that isn't overloaded right there?
Your camera - not likely you have a usb 3.0 cable for your camera, you idiot.
    Three strikes you're out...
You were saying... ? " Yes, I agree with you Cerise, you have a brain, a very big one and you think it through instead of being a dummy with a big mouth and far too willing to use it."
Oh, that's what you were saying. Good little boy, good boy.
  • Sleepingforest - Friday, March 15, 2013 - link

No, the backup shouldn't always be plugged in, otherwise whatever damage happens to the computer (fire, flood, virus, and so on) won't happen to the backup drive. If you get a good external drive, moving it while it's off has no consequences--you know, the thing people do with laptops? There are cameras with USB 3.0 because it's faster, as seen here: http://usbtips.com/nikon-d800-dslr-launches-with-s... I happen to use my phone even when I sit at a computer, so it's helpful to charge it while it's next to me.

So no, you look like the idiot here. You have a narrowly focused world view that can't comprehend usage scenarios beyond your own, you don't think through anything you say, and most of what you say is insults anyway.

I know, it's hard not to get some revenge satisfaction voting people off the comment area like a 3rd world dictator, if you want that crap go to toms - oh wait you do, then in a frenzy -20 as many people who talk sense as you possibly can, causing everyone else who doesn't have a bleeding tampon on display constantly having to go through the trouble of unhiding the often sentient comments you idiot fanboy whiners have hidden.
Now, that's why I say, and admittedly for the first time ever that may not be exactly correct, but you did ask, you power hungry evil person, and you got an answer.
  • keithh - Monday, March 11, 2013 - link

I'm guessing that you don't pay the electricity bill. I did the math and it was cheaper for me to decommission a bunch of smaller drives and replace them with a single 2TB drive. The cost was recovered in a couple of years. Further, the newer drives are faster, quieter, and cooler.

I second the recommendation to invest in a NAS.
  • CeriseCogburn - Tuesday, March 12, 2013 - link

Umm, excuse me - but after "several years" of saving 5 watts per drive or so, and you've finnally "recouped your initial costs", although that isn't counting the possible REAL INVESTMENT of that added expense and the wonder of combined interest, you want to spend a wad on a very expensive rip off NAS ?
    LOL
Dumb as can be, NAS is an "investment"....
Computer parts are not investments - you know maybe - if you are really goofy and you go to the raving loon retro section of ebay you could get a bit more than scrap weight price after a few years.
    You aren't INVESTING, okay ?
Pass that along to the thousand other wannabe faux acting CEO's on this board, won't you ?
Spending on crap that depreciates faster than cars is NOT an investment.
  • keithh - Monday, March 11, 2013 - link

How to enlarge a profile picture of a Facebook account

In this article we show you something on Facebook allows you to enlarge any image on facebook even if it is protected, that due to an error in the image URL on facebook, you can return the the size of the photos before the main added, making it without loss of image quality when enlarged, because we really did not return to its normal size, this thing is nice Try it with your friends and not forget to comment.

The best way to view photos on Facebook!
MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE LATEST VERSION OF GOOGLE CHROME (AT LEAST VERSION 18.xx).

Facebook Photo Zoom is a free Google Chrome extension that automatically displays the full version of Facebook photos when you hover your cursor over it. and it is easier to recognize friends and other familiar faces, it saves a lot of time on the opening of each image separately, especially if your connection is weak.
Google Chrome extensions usually download and install in a flash, and you do not need to restart your browser to begin using them. Facebook Photo Zoom is managed from the Extensions page in the Tools menu, but unlike many other Chrome extensions it actually configure some options, such as a slider to set the opacity zoom tool shortcut , and fields for carrying molten image milliseconds. There's even a help page, another nice departure from the usual documentation offered few add-ons for Chrome, which we assume are usually quite simple not to require any instruction.
So how does Facebook Photo Zoom? All right. We traveled to a friend's page and spotted a few photos. Hovering the cursor over an image opens a pop-up with a full view, and roll the cursor was closed just as quickly and smoothly. It does not matter if the image was published in a photo album or on a wall, Facebook Photo Zoom blew to normal size when moused over. If you are a Chrome user who spends a lot of time on Facebook, this extension is essential. If you live on Facebook, but have not yet tried Chrome, here's your chance!

Say what you want about the ugliness...and I agree...but a large percentage of the people buying and building PCs today are 16-26 years old, and they love the types of cases that appear to be either recycled Storm Troopers, (not the Cooler Master storm trooper) or projects from a desperately lacking in talent community college design class.
