Watching now. Bay Trail is the most intriguing topic on the list, can't wait to see that kind of performance in tablets, especially for Windows or hybrid Windows/Android tablets.
Thanks for doing this, I was wondering when your next podcast would be now that winter is staring you have so many products to review (new phones, tablets, atom dissected, windows 8.1, mainstream haswell, etc) I was wondering if you were going to have time for a podcast prior to christmas.
I know you guys are used to podcasts but on video it helps to look at audience (camera) more than each other. Cough Brian Cough. Great content and timing on the vid otherwise.
They put the demo units in a cold room so the devices don't throttle down to their base clock speed? Wow, this type of misleading tactic is new from Intel.
Brian, Bay Trail isn't a "phone part". If it was, they would've announced it for phones now, too. But they didn't. It's a "tablet part" - i.e. less efficient part.
The phone part comes later in q1 2014 The platform for phones is called merrifield and not baytrail, both use the same CPU architecture called silvermont but merrifield will probably have imagination instead of gen 7 graphics based off previous Intel roadmaps.
I think AnandTech has exceeded the credibility gap that would necessitate a suit and tie. Perhaps it's just me, but anyone outside of a job interview wearing a suit is a red flag for the bullshit patrol. An AnandTech branded polo and khakis (or even jeans) would be more appropriate. Also, the I'd still like an audio version of this published as a PodCast. I consume a lot of information this way, and I don't want to be required to focus on talking heads - or have the additional power consumed on my phone.
The suit and tie is actually my fault. When I was growing up I was always told/felt compelled to wear a suit whenever you were going to do anything important. I started the site when I was 14 and felt that being invited places to speak with manufacturers was a pretty important task, so the suit seemed logical. It sort of stuck as a way to represent ourselves as professional, especially in the early days when I was much younger and we didn't have established relationships with companies. As I grew older it sort of stuck as a thing we just always did, and it also helped carry the professional/credible message as we evolved.
Every now and then you may catch me slipping without a tie or even in a t-shirt and jeans, but I still feel like I owe respect to those who invite me places and choose to show it in part by donning the suit and tie.
Stick with the suits at the venues where they are appropriate. You know what you're doing and it works. Respect is universally understood. And where it isn't, it should be.
Also, I've found it occasionally useful to temporarily remove the jacket to strike a different tone, so if it is really that bothersome to the home crowd on video, then that might be a possibility. But, it wouldn’t be my first choice, just a tool to use when it really matters to need to tone down formality.
The message is what counts, and you guys were fascinating.
The problem is lack of personal & busy schedule, Anand & Brain always have to travel all over the world to attend all kinds of trade shows and conference in addition to doing reviews and articles when they are at home. Even when they are free it is hard to get Ian on the line because time zone difference.
If Anandtech have someone else who can handle recording & organizing the podcasts(like Techreport who have a dedicated Podcaster) then we might be able to get bi-weekly podcasts.

Ah, these are my favorite conversations at work! Perhaps i need different colleagues. Is it just me or is the sound in the video more high pitch than the podcasts?

Nah, your colleagues are just as cool as you :PAnd they're using a different mic here I think, its "sharper" than the usual...

Anandtech has quality coverage, but you guys are WAY BEHIND with lots of stuff. Like why haven't you been doing weekly YouTube videos for years?Bakes - Friday, September 20, 2013 - link
What if the quality coverage had to suffer for there to be weekly videos? Personally I prefer the quality coverage.I love the podcasts and wish they were more frequent but I'd rather see them stop if they were detracting from the quality of the articles.
Just my two cents.
