Yeah, the Z3 compact is one if the few phones I've been interested in this year, at least those on GSM carriers could import it (I think?). I'm glad the upgrade bug hasn't hit me and I'm happy with my Nexus, cause lately Sprint seems to have fallen behind in device selection.
One of the criticisms of the Z2 was it's flat sides making it not particularly pleasant to hold. Every review of the Z3 I have read has praised the new rounded sides for making it much nicer to hold. Now they've done a special Verizon version with flat sides? Don't understand at all.
I wonder how Verizon customers who want a Z3 will react to this as well.
Nothing new. Verizon has a well-established history of forcing bad design choices on their variants. At least they didn't axe the Qi charging and halve the NAND like AT&T did to the Lumia 1520.
FINALLY. Now please tell me that a Z3v Compact is next. As far as I can tell, Sony is the only company to offer full strength mini versions of their flagships. Unless the rumored Moto Droid Mini really is a shrunken twin of the powerhouse Droid Turbo that should be announced any day now.... In either case, just bring me a power house in the 4.5-4.9" screen segment.
two logos on the front and the back just to make sure that people will see you are sporting America's number whatever network. it's like capital-nazism.
Could we stop putting the wrong maximum numbers on the MicroSD info? The maximum for SDXC is 2 TB, according to the spec, and I think there are 256GB cards out right now. It's probably best to just say it has MicroSDXC and leave it at that.
I will still prefer Honor 6, because when I do a detailed comparison I found that Honor 6 offers almost the same this at half the price. You can check the detailed comparison here: http://wp.me/p5cjTD-c
Site lists the Moto X 2014, One M8, Xperia Z2 as being 3G only. Site lists the Honor 6 as the only model in the table having an aluminum body, the aluminum One M8 is listed as N/A for that section. Apparently the GS5 and the Honor 6 are the only two phones that have a body to screen ratio. Until someone shows me reputable numbers for their Kirin processor, I'm going to continue to believe the Snapdragon 80x chips in the other models offer more potent performance.

The Xperia series is not very popular within consumer based rankings (just see http://www.topreport.org/phones/ for example...)invinciblegod - Thursday, October 9, 2014 - link
Didn’t the carriers hate qi because they were using the competing standard of pma wireless charging? Isn’t that why AT&T removes qi from all lumias?Duraz0rz - Thursday, October 9, 2014 - link
Verizon likes Qi, so you'll see that on the Verizon phones that offer wireless charging.AT&T is part of the PMA group, so it's in their best interest to promote it.

I thought that was just AT&T, has any other carrier ever released a PMA version of a phone that originally featured Qi?techxx - Thursday, October 9, 2014 - link
I hope whoever's decision it was to not bring the Z3 Compact to the US goes to hell.Impulses - Friday, October 10, 2014 - link

Ugh! Can Verizon do that? Can they just plaster their ugly logo on the phone on both sides? Is that legal?Coup27 - Thursday, October 9, 2014 - link
