After about a month in Raleigh, Vinney and I finally headed back to CT on Monday. I pretty much completely forgot about the cold weather of the North East, but was promptly reminded of it after deplaning without a sweater on.
I basically spent a single day in CT (just long enough to take delivery of an important package and ship it off to Wes for a preview pretty soon...) before heading off to NJ for my flight today. I'm headed out West for meetings in Orange County today and then a speech in LA tomorrow. Saying that it's going to be a long day would be an understatement, I had to leave the house at 5:30AM and I have a feeling that I'm going to have to hit the ground running in Orange County when I land this afternoon.
My trip out to Cali for these next two days reminds me a lot of the schedule I used to keep in high school and college. Leaving early in the morning for my flight, landing and having meetings for the rest of the day, then spending one more day in meetings and taking the red eye back home. Of course back then I'd land the next morning and head directly to class, luckily these days I get to head directly to my lovely wife instead :)
Vinney always does her best to accompany me on these trips, but after rescheduling an exam (Yale Law students get their exams after winter break) to come with me to CES she couldn't get more time off to come with me on this short trip. I do hate leaving her, even if for only a couple of days. It is funny how things change - I used to love leaving on these trips, but now I can't stand the thought of being without Vinney.
Right now I'm getting some work done at the airport before boarding my flight out of here. As I mentioned above, there is a particularly interesting piece of hardware that got sent my way yesterday. I've put it in quite capable hands with Wes and I'll most likely do a follow-up to his piece after I return. I didn't even get time to power it up before I shipped it off, so I can't wait to find out how it looks. You'll find out what it is soon enough.
I also managed to get some more details on Intel's Core Duo that I'm rolling into an architectural piece. It's still too early to give you a time frame on when that article will be finished, but I'm targeting the end of this month for now.
The house in NC is coming along very well, and it's actually getting very close to being finished. All of the cabinets and flooring should be done in the next week or so, leaving trim work and painting as the next major steps for the interior. The outside still has to be landscaped but it looks like we may just be able to move in on time. I really can't believe that we'll be moving back in 4 months. Warm weather, here I come :)

Hi Anand,What topics are you covering in this speech? And is it a public speech or a private one? If public, where?
Thanks.

I hope :). Anand, you've done some excellent Apple articles, and AT (as well as Ars) are the only two sites I trust for non-biased Apple reviews.vijay333 - Wednesday, January 18, 2006 - link
