Computex 2013: ASUS PA279Q, 2560x1440 and Factory Color Calibrated

Although its two 4K displays drew the most attention at Computex this year, ASUS was very proud of its upcoming PA279Q display. The 27-inch IPS display features a 2560 x 1440 panel, but will ship fully calibrated from the factory. ASUS anticipates having a delta E less than 2 and 100% sRGB coverage out of box.
The price point will be higher than the influx of Korean 27-inch 2560 x 1440 panels, but ASUS hopes that the factory color calibration will help offset the premium. There's no word on final price or availability.

It just bothers me when these premium monitors cost the same as Apple's. I know Apple's aren't perfect and that you can make a lot of panels better if you calibrate, but most people would see the two and opt for the one with more known brand, let alone the alu/aesthetics/usually thinner/build quality/etc.EnzoFX - Monday, June 10, 2013 - link

And where did you see a price on this thing? The 27" Apple displays cost over 800€ (839€). HP, Dell, Fujitsu, Samsung, Philips, ViewSonic, Iiyama, DGM, Hazro all offer 1440p displays well below that. Not sure what you are talking about. The displays that approach the Apple are from Eizo and the ones above Apple are from Nec or 30" displays.B3an - Monday, June 10, 2013 - link

I hear ya dude, 16:10 is ideal. But, the lack of quality options and the high prices of decent 30" 16:10 monitors makes me feel like I have little choice but to go with 1440p when I upgrade my monitor.Even the Dell U3014, which seems pretty sweet, costs well over $1,000 and has several well documented problems that will probably require a hardware revision to resolve.
